FESTIVAL DE MÚSIQUES EN TERRES DE CRUÏLLA

The Music Festival in Terres de Cruilla (FMC), is a festival that transmits the essence of music and dance in the middle of the Catalan-speaking regions. The Festival, which has already celebrated 10 years of life, has brought together more than 200 artistic groups, more than 300 musicians and has developed ten technical conferences which have worked on the connection between wind music, interpreted by the Music Band, with other artistic disciplines such as plastic arts, literature or dance, among others.

One of the central activities of the Festival is a concert by the Senienca Musical Association Music Band, which has brought together different artists of various disciplines from all the Catalan-speaking regions, with special representation of professionals and amateurs from La Franja de Aragón. Some of the participating artists have been Claudio Sana, Franca Masu (Alguer), Carmen París (Franja Aragón), Pep Gimeno Botifarra and Andreu Valor (País Valencià), Miquela Lladó (Illes Balears), Quico el Cèlio, el Noi and el Mut de Ferreries, Montse Castellà and Joan Rovira (Terres de l'Ebre), among others. There have also been shows in which the Band has interacted with various artists from other disciplines such as dance, with Sonia Gómez, Raquel Gualtero, Roberto Olivan, Sol Picó, among others; or visual arts with Roser Gay, Ignasi Blanch, Elisabet Sabala and Sergi Palau.

After ten years of experience, the FMC has changed course to introduce wind musical formations both at an amateur and professional level. This new stage intends to promote, together with the bands’ music schools, the amateur and professional musicians involved, their training capacity, to generate synergies with other events and musical and cultural products, as well as in musical training, introduce aspects oriented towards creativity, innovation and the professionalization of the people being trained.

The project will provide another way of offering visitors or newcomers their own production of popular or traditional music, apart from the usual tourist and cultural activities, focusing on creating circuits through Catalan-speaking regions starting with Terres de l'Ebre and prioritizing the rural world and villages with less inhabitants which have hardly no cultural program at all.
