REGIONS
The name Terres de l'Ebre bring together the four most southern regions of Catalonia: Baix Ebre,
Montsià,
Terra Alta and
Ribera d'Ebre. As its name indicates, its identity is reflected along the course of the Ebro river.
Ribera d'Ebre is the most northern territory of all these lands. It limits the north with the regions belonging to Tarragona (Priorat and Baix Camp), and the province of Lleida (Segrià and Les Garrigues). Terra Alta and Baix Ebre are situated in the south of Ribera d'Ebre.
In fact, Terra Alta also has a frontier with the region of Matarranya, belonging to the Autonomous Community of Aragón

To the south we find
Baix Ebre. This is, precisely, the only region that touches, at the same time, all the territories of Terres de l'Ebre: Terra Alta and Ribera d'Ebre to the north and Montsià to the south.

Finally,
Montsià is situated in the most southern part of Catalonia. It limits the north with Baix Ebre and to the south with the region of Baix Maestrat, belonging to the Autonomous Community of the Valencian Country.
The border-like character of Terres de l'Ebre allows their area of social and cultural exchange to go beyond the strictly Catalan territory and reach the northern regions of the Valencian Country and the south of the Community of Aragon. These areas share intense cultural and human exchange.
