TREKKING
The hiking tradition implanted in Catalonia during the Renaissance period (end of 19th century) rooted with force in Terres de l'Ebre, probably due to the presence of the Massif of Els Ports. Although the excursions on the mountains started to lose their productive and commercial character, trekking and hiking became synonyms of walking for pleasure, for discovering the region and for direct contact with the environment. Those attracted by sport, local history and environment will find many paths to follow along and across Terres de l'Ebre, because apart from the Massif of Els Ports, the Delta de l' Ebre, the Serra del Montsià and the coastal cliffs offer thousands of possibilities for enjoyment of walkers.
