KAYAK

Sailing along the Ebro river by kayac offers new viewpoints about the landscape. The calm rhythm of the kayac allows you to contemplate your surroundings with absolute calmness and, even, to stop at some of the fluvial beaches or get close to the river woods.
The companies of guidance and rent of canoes offer fluvial itineraries which are adapted to their customers' preferences. Those who want to know the stretches which go across the inner parts of the regions of Ribera d'Ebre and Baix Ebre opt for the excursion from Vinebre to Móra la Nova or the 3-hour one that links Miravet and Benifallet. What is most appealing in this area of a wilder and more montainous geography, is the narrowness of the river at El Pas de l'Ase or the spectacularity of the countryside when the waters go past the Serra de Cardó. Those who are more adventurous will reach as far as Xerta, but previously will have to overcome L'Assut, a monumental barrier which mediates in the course of the Ebro river and crosses it in diagonal
Those who prefer to sail along quieter waters have two options: firstly, the reservoirs of Flix or Riba-Roja, to touch the low course of the river, already in the Aragonese regions of Matarranya and Baix Cinca; or secondly, the lowest course of the river, close to its mouth. Here there are the towns of Tortosa or Amposta and also the Delta de l'Ebre, where it is easy to watch a great variety of fauna, especially birds. Moreover, the last stretch of the excursion allows you to sail past some of the fluvial islets, like those of Gràcia, Sant Antoni or Buda, and to get to know the mouth of the Ebro river.
